I have a 3COM modem and cannot connect to your ISDN service, why?
You may need to update your current 3COM drivers. To do this, you will need to download the newest driver at the site below and then install/configure your modem. If you have any questions please contact support@cws.net.

Windows 95 - Dial-Up Networking Configuration

Firmware : Minimum Version 2.00b, Recommended Version 2.04

A) Firmware Upgrade

    1. The latest Impact Driver for Windows 95 (v2.04) can be downloaded from: HERE
    2. Download file: impct204.exe into a temp directory
    3. After download, Double-Click impct204.exe
    4. View the upgrade.txt & readme.txt before installation
    5. After the firmware upgrade is complete, place the impact.inf file into the c:\windows\inf directory

B) Driver Installation

    1. Click Start
    2. Select Settings
    3. Select Control Panel
    4. Double-Click Modems
    5. Modem Properties: General
    6. Click on ADD
    7. Install New Modem:
    8. "Don't detect my modem; I will select from a list" should be checked
    9. Click Next
    10. By placing the impact.inf file into the c:\windows\inf directory, Windows 95 will rebuild it's Modem Driver Database & will now include the 3COM ISDN devices.
    11. 3COM Driver (v2.04)
    12. Manufactorers: Select 3COM
    13. Models : Select 3COM Impact (Digital Data)
    14. Click Next
    15. Select correct Communications Port (Com #)
    16. Click Next
    17. Click Finish

C) Connection Configuration

    1. Modem Properties: General
    2. Highlight "3COM Impact (Digital Data)"
    3. Select Properties
    4. 3COM Impact Properties: General
    5. Set Maximum Speed: 115,200
    6. 3COM Impact Properties: Connection
    7. Data Bits: 8
    8. Parity: None
    9. Stop Bits: 1
    10. Click Advanced
    11. "Use Flow Control" should be checked
    12. "Hardware (RTS/CTS)" should be checked

      [One B Channel]
      1. Extra Settings: &F S61=2 S71=1 S80=0

      [Two B Channel - MultiLink PPP]

      1. Extra Settings: &F S61=2 S71=1 S80=1
      2. Click OK
      3. Click OK
      4. Click Close

D) Remote S Registers

    1. S61=2 Outgoing Call Type: ISDN
    2. S71=1 B Channel Protocol: Async-Sync PPP conversion
    3. S80=1 MultiLink PPP: Enabled
    4. S80=0 MultiLink PPP: Disabled
