Firmware : Minimum Version 2.00b, Recommended
Version 2.04
A) Firmware Upgrade
- The latest Impact Driver for Windows 95 (v2.04)
can be downloaded from: HERE
- Download file: impct204.exe into a temp directory
- After download, Double-Click impct204.exe
- View the upgrade.txt & readme.txt before
installation
- After the firmware upgrade is complete, place
the impact.inf file into the c:\windows\inf directory
B) Driver Installation
- Click Start
- Select Settings
- Select Control Panel
- Double-Click Modems
- Modem Properties: General
- Click on ADD
- Install New Modem:
- "Don't detect my modem; I will select from
a list" should be checked
- Click Next
- By placing the impact.inf file into the c:\windows\inf
directory, Windows 95 will rebuild it's Modem
Driver Database & will now include the 3COM
ISDN devices.
- 3COM Driver (v2.04)
- Manufactorers: Select 3COM
- Models : Select 3COM Impact (Digital Data)
- Click Next
- Select correct Communications Port (Com #)
- Click Next
- Click Finish
C) Connection Configuration
- Modem Properties: General
- Highlight "3COM Impact (Digital Data)"
- Select Properties
- 3COM Impact Properties: General
- Set Maximum Speed: 115,200
- 3COM Impact Properties: Connection
- Data Bits: 8
- Parity: None
- Stop Bits: 1
- Click Advanced
- "Use Flow Control" should be checked
- "Hardware (RTS/CTS)" should be checked
[One B Channel]
- Extra Settings: &F S61=2 S71=1 S80=0
[Two B Channel - MultiLink PPP]
- Extra Settings: &F S61=2 S71=1 S80=1
- Click OK
- Click OK
- Click Close
D) Remote S Registers
- S61=2 Outgoing Call Type: ISDN
- S71=1 B Channel Protocol: Async-Sync PPP conversion
- S80=1 MultiLink PPP: Enabled
- S80=0 MultiLink PPP: Disabled
